Tesla continues to expand its Supercharger network around the world. The company plans to add 13 more in Taiwan this year to further enhance the Tesla vehicle ownership experience.
Tesla Taiwan has announced that it will add 13 new Superchargers in 2021, bringing the total number of branded charging stations across the country to 38. The company also named all of the planned charging infrastructure locations:
- 2 Supercharger stations in Taipei and New Taipei City
- 4 Supercharger stations to cover Taoyuan, and Hsinchu and Miaoli counties
- 2 in Taichung
- 2 to cover Tainan, Yunlin and Chiayi counties
- 3 in Kaohsiung and Pingtung County
In December 2019, at the Taipei International Auto Show, Tesla announced that it plans to increase the total number of installed Superchargers in Taiwan to 25 in 2020, and stayed true to its announcement. All planned Superchargers were installed on time.
In the summer of 2020, Tesla installed two V3 Superchargers, and plans to increase their number. V3 is a completely new architecture for Supercharging. A new 1MW power cabinet with a similar design to Tesla's utility-scale products supports peak rates of up to 250kW per car. At this rate, a Model 3 Long Range operating at peak efficiency can recover up to 75 miles of charge in 5 minutes, and charges at rates of up to 1,000 miles per hour.
